ROBIN HILL PUBLIC SCHOOL

Robin Hill School Expansion: Safe, Modern Classrooms & Facilities by Principle Design

Robin Hill School, a thriving K-8 institution in Norman, Oklahoma, is addressing its rapid growth and facility needs with an innovative new building expansion, expertly designed by Principle Design, a leading architecture firm. Recognizing Robin Hill’s challenges—ranging from limited storm shelter space to a critical need for restrooms and classrooms—Principle Design developed a tailored solution that prioritizes both safety and functionality.

To accommodate Robin Hill’s growing student body and meet modern safety standards, Principle Design’s plan relocates existing portable classrooms, making space for a brand-new, 6,000-square-foot addition. This new structure includes four state-of-the-art classrooms that double as ICC-500 compliant storm shelters, ensuring all students have access to safe shelter during Oklahoma's severe weather.

The expansion also introduces centrally-located, accessible restroom facilities, addressing a major campus need with enough capacity to support increased occupancy. Additionally, Principle Design incorporated a dedicated teacher workroom into the plan—a first for Robin Hill School—providing staff with a functional space for preparation and collaboration.

This project represents a significant upgrade for Robin Hill School. Principle Design's thoughtful campus planning and tailored site design have not only created space for growth but have ensured that Robin Hill can continue to provide a safe, accommodating learning environment for all students.
